2[5] 02 iChat 2 Name Entry Screen Oct 2008

This is the Chat 2 Name Entry Screen on First run of iChat 2. Apart from some Styling compared to iChat version 1 there is no difference. It is still a choice to enter a Screen Name from Apple or AIM and then Specifiy which in the drop down and add a "Real Name" at the top. The Real Name does not have to match your Address Book Entry but it was most people do.

The Link button to get a New iChat account links to a page at Apple that no longer exists as Apple have changed the .Mac service to MobileMe

Created with JAlbum 4.0.6

The point in the Start Up Screens where you enter your "Real Name" (normally as it apparears in your address Book) and your Screen Name (@mac.com names still work but the Get New Account button doe not link anywhere.)

Any new MobileMe name from Apple will have to be entered as an AIM type of name and the full name with @me.com suffix typed in.

Compatibility

Confirmed to work with Win/IE 5.5 and later (should work in 5.0, but not confirmed), Firefox 2, Safari 3, Opera 9, iCab 3.02 and later, Mac/IE 5, Netscape 6 and later

Old browsers (IE version 4 or earlier, Netscape 4 or earlier) should only see a text-based page which, while not the prettiest option, is still entirely usable.
